We use our own built-in, privacy-friendly analytics to understand how this site is used. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics or advertising tracker, and we do not sell or share your usage data with anyone.
For each page view we record: the page visited, the referring site, UTM campaign tags (if present), your browser, operating system and device type, the approximate language/timezone reported by your browser, and an anonymous visitor identifier stored in your own browser (not a cross-site cookie). Your IP address is used only in one-way hashed form to estimate unique visitors and is never stored in raw form.
The anonymous identifier and page-view tracking only run if you allow "Analytics" in our cookie settings. Separately, when you create an account we note how your visit began — the campaign tags in the link you followed, the name of the referring site (not the page), and the first page you landed on — so we can tell which of our announcements bring people in. That note is stored with your account and deleted with it.
This data is first-party, stays on our own servers, and is used solely to operate and improve the site. You can clear the anonymous identifier at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
